Sounds no worse than Clan Line or various other Bulleids running these days, and they always seem to sound like that.

She sounds a bit off beat but it will be sorted quickly no doubt and anyway it makes a heck of a loud noise

Great to see her back and good luck to Bressingham getting her shaken down. WIth all the delays, problems (or rumoured ones); having to take out a loan and sell off prized possession to finish her it must have been VERY stressful for the people who have been behind bringing her back. Without them making the call to restore her we wouldn't have the benefit of seeing it.

I hope it does them and the movement proud and am sure it will- congratulations to everyone and good luck with getting it on the mainline.

Grow up. If he hadn't mentioned the source of the info you'd no doubt be doubting its accuracy.

I makes a nice change for someone to have the confidence to quote their source instead of 'I heard' or 'A friend of a mate said', don't knock it.

For goodness sake, Royal Scot is steaming and dragging a few hundred tons around Somerset - It's nothing short of a miracle really, yet we all have our backs turned and are busy bickering about nonsense. Just enjoy the friggin locomotive and congratulate the beggars who slaved away to get her back in steam. Honestly!!! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

    (oooh, I feel better now!!)

I think it is wsr.org that he is referring to.

    http://www.wsr.org.uk

Look under "Latest Pictures" also "Lots More": "Photo Gallery" and then "Spring Steam Gala 2009" over on the top right of the page.

...Its' very "red" isnt it?...... Bressingham must have had lots of that paint left over from before.

The engine looks fantastic, why are folks moaning?
What we have is a beautiful engine, in the same basic form it has spent most of its life, in the same basic colour it has spent most of its life and with the same basic number it has spent most of its life.
None are original, if you want an original Glasgow built Royal Scot with a parallel boiler and in a 1920s LMS black livery instead of a Derby built Royal Scot with a tapered boiler and a red livery as used on one of the class, I believe the cost is £3.000,000 to £4,000,000, but of course then like Tornado, you still can never have an original back, you can only have a replica
As some one said, enjoy what you have been given.
    Cheers Bernard

God bless and saints preserve all that have made this happen.
Alan Bloom would be in tears of joy and pride if he was still here.
I for one am very very happy to see this loco back.

    Morning everyone,

Can anyone state why the rebuilt Patriots (or Baby Scots) received new Stanier-type cab in place of the original Royal Scot type, whereas the rebuilt Scots retained their original style of cab?

    Very Best Wishes,
    Bob.

A word of caution. There is a world of difference between shuttling up and down the WSR and 75 mph running on the main line. It remains to be seen what has to be done to 6100 before or if the latter happens.
