Yep, that's the one. After more extensive googling I've found a mention of it having moved to LSL last week from the Barry Tourist Railway, but not why. I can't see it being any use to LSL as spares, perhaps a restoration is on the cards? Assume it has been sold as I can't imagine the BTR having the money to put it on a contract overhaul.

Well there is no accounting for taste but I cannot think of any livery that is so dull and bland as that grey/yellow concoction that came in with freight sectorisation. I've no idea how 37025 is painted at present but please keep the grey paint away from it. That said it belongs to the SRPS not me so I guess they can paint it how they like.

67DF8D5D-0BC8-4DE5-83D8-82CAA04902CE.jpeg Someone has their garden furniture painted in a similar livery… 2 years ago it was one of several lockdown projects, I did say all over grey would be a little bland…
She didn’t let me get away with TOPS allocations or Bescot Depot plaques though

All-over rail blue is pretty dull, too.

Probably restoration. Not much left to take off it and Hosking isn't swimming in 1st gen DMUs.

Is there anything further on this? If the asking price hadn't been so high however long ago I very much doubt it would of ended up at the restaurant...

It was privately owned and by someone who over the years has put very large amounts of his own money into railway preservation, so I’m not inclined to be too harsh.

As for more news - ‘fraid not, haven’t heard anything since.

Mk2 BFK No. 14123 moved from the East Kent railway to Eastleight yesterday. According to multiple comments on Facebook, it's joining 50021 and 50026 as a support coach; unsure if this is confirmed or not though.

    Edit to add:

The post has vanished from the page now, but the LNER Gresley Buffet (misidentified as the brake coach) departed Epping Ongar the other day too. Destination unknown, though the post (still referring to the pictured vehicle as the BTO) said it was purchased by the M&GN - though it could be crossed wires as the BTO has definitely been sold to them?

Paul Spracklen actually announced the purchase back in July and said at the time funds and regulations permitting, 14123 was purchased with the intention of being support coach for 50021 & 50026.

worst case as a vehicle with limited use and a chequered preservation history is it becomes an upmarket glamping vehicle

3 Mk2s (5149, 5204, 5228) have moved from the Strathspey to Churnet Valley for Polar Express duties, RHRP saying staying there afterwards.
