Looking great Matt, hopefully on the final stretch now.

Out of interest how do you control a hst power car in reverse? Is there any sort of provision of controls at the rear?

    Cheers
    Tom

There is an emergency brake inthe luggage area. In this instance it just treated as a propelling move controlled by a shunter using a radio to communicate with the driver.

reasonably well, today the head shunt was being moved away to allow the carriage shed foundations to be built. Meanwhile car park sub base is being laid.

Cheers Matt! It's all so real now. The railway is on a great run and long may it continue. What a fantastic project.

Our next gala event will be on Saturday 30th September 2023.

This will be our first event to be based at Abergwili Junction (rather than Bronwydd Arms). This will mean plenty of parking on site, and no more shuttle buses to the Village Hall carpark on gala days! I'm sure that it will present lots of interesting opportunities for gala timetables too, as we look to centre our operations at AJ from Easter onwards.

Next year's event also celebrates the 45th anniversary of the railway in the preservation era too.

    Diolch,

    Phil.

GWR 216 continues to inch closer to completion with the overhauled droplights now inserted and waistline beading being fitted.

Hi Matt, I know the original planning consent specified that there was to be no pedestrian access to the site due to the two 70MPH dual carriageways and main road bordering the site. I guess from where you say "Final design work on pedestrian access to the site" that this has changed. Where will the pedestrian access point be?

    Hi Alan

A pedestrian link is planned from the platform on to the footpath which is the opposite end of the site to the main road.

A most enjoyable day in the company of @Sidmouth and friends, and with the vintage set in operation. I am sure that there will be far better efforts than mine!

    regards
