Rheinland-Pfalz Plandampf 1-5 October 2022

Not many details at present, except that it'll be based around Neustadt an der Weinstraße, and there'll be steam hauled services to various destinations.

After sending several e/mails I finally reached the right person. Quote from yesterdays e/mail, Loco's and cars have been booked ,timetable checked, for a interesting if opulent event.Thats all I know.

 

Before I cancel provisionally made travel plans has anyone heard anymore about this event please? Looks like it has been pulled.

So that's one loco confirmed - 23 058. I still can't find anything else out about the event, but it seems to be going ahead. There's a tour from Neuss with an electric loco on the Saturday.

I can't find anything else out about it though! It's not listed on Drehscheibe or Eisenbahn Planer. Even the railway museum at Neustadt merely lists their own children's festival on the Saturday, no mention of the Plandampf. Very odd. Yet there's a large booklet been produced (warning, it's 17Mb).

A big brochure that's for sure but no real details of the Plandampf that I could find. May have to read it again.

After a lot of searching I found the same page! There is also a day of photo specials and a little bit of Plandampf on Tuesday 4 October organised by UEF, for which a payment of 150€ is required. See their website for more info.

I paid a visit to the above event ,loco's 23058,58311,41018, 378 78.The main line from Ludwigshaven to Kaiserslautern was worked by the 23 and 41,Branch lines from Neustadt by the 58 and 378.To much to cover everything here ,very busy at times at Neustadt.Good value tickets ,£13 aprox,for all day.Three photo's attached .41018 passing 58311 at Scifferstadt in the pouring rain on Sat'. 378 78 on a Bad Durken train and 23058 departing at Neustadt'.

 

This was Sat 22nd October near Cottbus which is in Eastern Germany (as opposed to the DDR);
