    "Following on from the excellent news last week of the second engine returning to 55022 Royal Scots Grey, we are delighted to provide details of the three InterCity charters in 2022 that will be operated by the Deltic.

    • 26 August – The Deltic Delight - from Wolverhampton to Newcastle. ** FULLY BOOKED **

    • 12 October – The Severn Valley Deltic – from Newcastle to Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley Railway. Places remain available.

    • 29 October – The Deltic Deviation – from Finsbury Park to Newcastle via the Joint Line. Places remain available.

    I was on Wigan NW on Saturday 24th Sep and saw D9000/55022 being heavily pushed by 47805. Was there a problem with the Deltic or do diesel charters suffer the same interference as the steam ones?

    It was only on on engine from what I’ve read.

    The test runs and the tour itself was only done on one engine , presumably the other is not quite ready

    a separate thread suggests to other tours are now off and further work is needed to complete 55022 . Visit to Barrow Hill on the cards

    Understand the Seven Valley Deltic (and presumably Delictive Deviation) is cancelled, due to more work being required to make the loco robust enough to do railtours.
