And expecting a more vigorous passage through Long Preston - how not to be , the train slowed to a halt just after.
The driver looking ahead for the signal just had to be in black and white .

Following the passenger, hanging back till it cleared Horton so as to get a run at the bank.

Yes I guessed that was the case, the brakes came on just after the station. Then the sound of the Brit accelerating drifted back - took me right back to listening to them leave Bank Quey the 60s.

Nice selection of vids and pictures. Couple of small questions.

What does it say on the support coach and seems odd that the SC is not blood and custard considering it will probably run 80% of the time with immaculate stock in that livery.
What is happening on days 2 & 3 of this tour?

It's Mayflower's support coach and Days 2/3 are free days for local excursions.

It is an interesting spot for the two trains to pass. Both will have slowed for the 30 mph restriction for the Dent station foot crossing where they met and both will have been whistling for this crossing as well as a greeting to each other. Perfect timing!
