Now still showing 46115 but BIL has been added. I don't think it is a double header (I wish!) so I am guessing there has ben some problem with the Scot and BIL has come to the rescue?

Like...at least an hour it seems. This trip doesn't seem to have the best of luck.

Saw the train at Cononley, really moving and clearly on a mission to make up time. A real treat for the passengers after the delayed start. Made up half the deficit by Shipley.

Running late due to a line possession a smartly turned-out No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' works ‘The Lune Rivers Trust’ away from Clapham towards Hellifield and on to York Mick Kelly driving, Craig Todd firing and Roly Parker Guard. Ingleborough Fell in the background

    How do I put this?
What an absolute stunning looking and sounding piece of machinery 46115 is.
I’m very biased but I’m rather partial towards a rebuilt Scot, cracking machines, thanks to all for sharing :)

Yes, I agree. I've had a couple of (unassisted) runs behind 46115 and was very impressed, both by performance and presentation. The fireman told me it's hungry for coal, the more you feed it the more it will burn, but I guess that comes down to the skill of knowing your machine. I think 46115 is the better of the two Scots, but no doubt that's controversial.

I was undecided where to go for the return run; it would be dusk at Gargrave and full darkness at Giggleswick. Whilst the prospect of seeing SG climb Gigglewick bank in the dark was alluring it would mean returning home an hour later and a longer drive along unlit country roads. So, Gargrave it was, where SG was due at sunset. The high ground to the west and the thin cloud conspired to cause the light to fade quickly, the hoped-for golden light in the west was not to be.

Although I arrived early the eastbound platform was already reasonably well populated with others waiting in parked cars. I headed for the deserted westbound platform. As time passed the station, with the road bridge to the east and high trees to the south became darker and 5 minutes before the train was due the station light came on and shone brightly. In marked contrast the sky to the west, with its more open aspects, remained bright. RTT showed that SG had left Skipton (and for a brief period showed that it had already passed through Gargrave - must have blinked and missed it!!) the signal beyond the end of the platform was showing green.

Then came the distant growl of the Scot as exhaust steam appeared from the trees by the bend and 46115 powered her train towards us in the ever-gathering gloom. Under the bridge and swiftly through the platforms. The driver returned my wave - thanks. The coaches sped by. the table lights shining brightly in the windows. The 47 on the back added to the general noise, but not excessively. The train disappeared up the hill and into the still bright west.

[I had an iPhone securely clamped to metal fence at the end of the platform, perhaps 2-3 feet away from the passing train. However, the air turbulence created by the train caused the phone to vibrate slightly leaving the video too blurry to use. A shame as the fire reflected in the underside of the exhaust as SG headed away].

12C with a gentle NW breeze, 42mph and RT. As I drove home the clouds cleared to reveal a bright half-moon lowish in the sky - now that would have been nice to include.
