Don't know what sort of body you are thinking of putting on your new Brush Pony chassis, but we've got a 1967 one with a Brush built body on it, just in case you need any dimensions to work from.......


Ours was in use by the local hospital laundry from 1967 until 1990 when they gave it to our Museum.

 

Oh that is excellent, were are you and when can I visit?

Our intention is to go for the fully enclosed body as below..

Thanks for a great weekend playing with the toys, err, I mean undertaking cross group vehicle familiarisation and training (even if supervising J on the tugs was rather more exciting than I anticipated!).

Mrs. Lock and I dropped in at Quorn on Sunday afternoon to check out what you had on display. Very impressed with the variety of wagons on show and the road vehicles too. We took a turn through the marquee and the Test Car where we listened to Dave's presentation and then retired to Butler-Henderson's for Bacon Sandwiches and Tea, and it stayed dry all the while we were there! A very enjoyable couple of hours, well done all.

A couple of questions:

1. What's the best way to send you a donation? (via DCRT?)
2. What's the story with that wooden framed coal wagon that looks rather forlorn at the end of reception siding?

Finally, I do hope you won't be using those BRUTEs to drown out announcements as seemed to be their main purpose on BR stations.

Thanks for that, shame about the wooden framed wagon, it looks like it needs rather a lot of TLC.

So, is it donations to Q W & W, c/o GCR at Lovatt House or do you have a separate address? There's no clue on your website!

 

It's been sitting at Quorn for at least 6 or 7 years as far as I remember, the original plan seemingly being for it to be restored as part of the goods yard display at Quorn. It's privately owned (as I was told when I asked about it a few years back) and there is (or was...) a rather faded laminated notice attached to it regarding donations to restore it to display condition - those donations seemingly not being forthcoming.
I was also told, when I enquired about it, that it's current state precludes it being moved elsewhere on the line on its rail wheels due to the condition of the underframe.
Would be nice to see it restored though...
