I would imagine that would depend on when her boiler ticket actually expires, and if the railway is going to seek an extension, to allow further use, Of course, agreement will have to be gotten from the NRM, as it's their loco, before any work can be done if the loan was just for the duration of the ten year ticket, Hopefully York won't want to re call her back, and will allow a further period of operation, If she is to be given another overhaul, will she jump the queue, before 850 ?

I can answer my own question. She's booked to run on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Roster for the rest of October not up yet though.

Yes, you beat me to it on here! Busy day undoing several bolts of varying sizes on 50027 so was updating when I could when I got the message through!

We had an excellent day at the railway yesterday, just a shame that the S&D 7F was declared a failure. The loco sounded superb as she powered up Medstead bank with the goods.

Cheltenham looked as if she had just emerged from Eastleigh works. It's hard to believe that she's nearing the end of her ticket.

Plenty of bums on seats yesterday. Let's hope that the railway makes a good profit.

    As for visiting engines, with a line-up of 30925, 53808, 41312 (as 41294), 506 and 76017, I don't believe it was necessary.

Many thanks to the railway for organising such an enjoyable event and a huge thank you to all the volunteers. <BJ>

How on earth have I managed to miss 925 in steam compared to the amount of times I’ve cabbed it at York out of traffic?
In all seriousness I really hope this one gets another go again, it seems to have proved to be rather popular down in Hampshire.

While I'm sure there's probably a desire to overhaul 30925 from both the NRM and MHR, would I be right in guessing that it won't be tackled until 850 undergoes it's own?

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed Dan! The biggest gaps in my platform 5 are locos from the Southern. So from a selfish point of view, I’d be happy to see another nice little deal between the MHR and NRM regarding a restore and run agreement regarding 850 and 925. I certainly think they’re far better where they are rather than out of use at somewhere like York or Shildon.

I'd be happy to see them both running again as soon as possible too and you catch your chance for a trip. My Grandad has some pictures of me on the footplate of 925 at the NRM as a kid, pretending to drive her I think, but been lucky enough to have a fair few runs behind her at the MHR and Bluebell over the last 10 years.

I thought the NRM were doing nothing with locos until they have turned York into this new "Disneyland".
Certainly nothing seems to be happening with the T9 at Swanage other than it being protected from the elements.

The NRM is a pretty large place and would not pay its way if it relied on train buffs, it has to appeal for a family's day out. There is a lot more for train enthusiasts to do than looking at static exhibits.

A lot depends on several things, assuming a further agreement is signed, with the NRM, is there enough funds held against the steaming fees to start the overhaul, and what work is she going to need, what state is she mechanically, and when can she be given a slot in the overhaul queue,

I'm told that all agreement renewals are now referred back to the Science Museum central office, and they are very slow to respond. It will probably be a while before anything is known.

Anyone know which locos are working tomorrow? Nothing on the Loco Roster page. I am not up to getting to HK buy might be able to drag myself to Alresford.

    Thanks
