That's probably only because even fans of other railways know that green with brass trinkets is de rigueur for GWR locos. :D

There that's fixed the lack of livery debate part of the thread. ;)

Not sure what the climax of the greatest of all artistic masterpieces of any genre has to do with this subject. Unless of course you are going to focus on the overall message of Der Ring, which is that to try to grasp power by stealing it will corrupt and destroy everything, and the only way to wellness is to return to what lay before.

Greatest? Subjective, at best. Potentially worrying too, given the infamy of that composer's No.1 fan. In any event, how, pray, do you you apportion any innate non-monetary value to art, if it's purpose is other than to hold a mirror up to society?

(Wanders off, humming "I killed the wabbit ......")

Let's just say that "No. 1 fan" didn't really get much of the point of the Ring.

I'll agree that it is a subjective judgement, but stand by my view that the Ring is the greatest single artistic achievement, measured by a combination of craft, genius and imagination. And, like all great art, it takes it's audience into different places every time they encounter it (I'm at 5 cycles and a standalone Valkyrie so far). None of which is about whether or not it holds a mirror up to society, although the Ring certainly does.

And, for @mdewell, are we far enough off topic yet;)

The Germans are well known for their brutality. Their Operas last 3-4 days

The content of this thread is starting to mirror the prototypicality of the thread’s title…

Lined, so it looks like it's from a proper railway like the LNWR or L&Y

Well, considering they painted a Bullied purple and a Hall red, why not express passenger blue?
    Definitely be noticed! :p
