Usually is whenever the diner is in service ..

If you’re doing to criticise get the facts correct first .

Well said D7076 - see previous post. The empty space referred to at Buckley Wells for those who don't know is the part of the C & W shed when the diner train is out (usually 3 times a week earning around £1m this year.) Understand that the 'short term gain' of 60009 has resulted in a massive increase of visitors, with over 20,000 paid for admissions since the start of June.
It was always intended, and fully agreed with John Cameron that this would be a temporary housing until Fife Council planning department came to their senses.
By the way and from announcements at an excellent fundraising dinner in the Bury Transport Museum with John Cameron & Steve Davies (both recounting excellent A4 experiences) on Friday there won't be empty spaces for long (if at all), but you can wait until it's all announced.............

No need to be rude. I actually stated "Buckley Wells" in error when I meant Bury Transport Museum and for that I apologise. However I still believe that it was short-sighted to evict the long standing road vehicle exhibits just so 60009 could be temporarily accommodated but hey-ho it's not my museum.

You of course may still believe that it was short-sighted to 'evict' the long standing road vehicle exhibits. I'm told that the discussions regarding these (road) exhibits had been going on for some considerable time before the possibility of 60009 being placed in the museum was mooted, and regretfully was brought to a head by the complete no-no of certain owners either refusing or failing to understand that the railway could not continue to provide undercover rent-free, utility cost free storage for several of essentially the same exhibit. Proper notice was therefore given. Indeed compromise was attempted over short term storage elsewhere to allow 60009 to be exhibited for its intended period but to no avail.
That's as polite a reply as can be managed, as relayed on.

Why would she? Not sure she's up for opening every barn in the country. More likely it would be local delegate and man who will take any opportunity to be in a newspaper, Willie Rennie.

Is politics in here really necessary?

As it was my post...politics was not on my mind...just the person. I do not live in Scotland, but adore the country, it's people and it's culture. I only hope there is a fine opening ...plus a pipe band...that would be the cream on the cake for the homecoming of dearly loved locomotive....

Half of the people you adore support independence, which of course has NS as its figurehead.

Worth bearing in mind before making throwaway comments, one way or another, on the constitution.

That's their perogative..my love of Scotland will still remain the same. Scottish politics..only the Scottish peoples can decide..but politicians will never miss the opportunity to wade into an "event"...look at me I'm here....

According to an account I read many years ago, a piper was very much in attendance and an important part of the proceedings when 60009 first moved to the Lochty Railway, but there was no mention of the local MP!

That of course includes JC himself, who is an ardent and very proud Scot. I'm sure he would be delighted if NS were to agree to open his museum.

I believe it was something along the lines to NS about her white shoes getting dirty. Her reply was about how it wasnae problem, they could be cleaned. Although that was from the Beano so it could be total BS.

60009 has a new permanent home it seems. John Cameron that his museum, on his farm in Fife, has received approval. 60009 will be moved there, from Bury, in January next year,
