Only the LMR allocated pacifics were maroon, Scottish region ones remained green.

Just for the hell of it, do we have a PhotoShopper among our number who could show us what ex-LMS pacifics might've looked like in Caley, GS&W* or Highland (green!) colours, please?

*might as well ask for the complete set! :)

The early BR pale blue which some of the LMS pacifics carried for a short time in the early 50s was derived from the Caley livery

Only for certain classes, have a look at 55022 and compare it to some of the 47’s used by Saphos, it’s not the same.

I think the only plain, unadorned green livery was that carried by DP2 before it got a Deltic-style skirt. Strangest one has to be that of the Metro-Vicks.

I think there were a few more than that Mike, I’m thinking of the Class 20’s for a start (all over green albeit with a grey roof)

Class 37s were all over green. Also 40s, although they had a light coloured band at roof height, and Peaks too

You're absolutely right Matt, as is @Cartman - brain fog from looking at too many locomotives with duck-egg blue bands on them! 'Peaks' had a light-blue band near the floor. I liked the bands applied to the 31s.

Has anyone done a "golden ochre" diesel in preservation yet?

I'm sure a Western was done in the ochre brown colour in preservation. Might be wrong.

A genuine picture I took many years ago of a reverse pacific (2-6-4 rather than 4-6-2) in Caley blue: 2354D11A-C4BE-44C1-9298-B36C65AB63C1.png

1015 was painted in Golden Ochre when it returned to traffic 20 years ago, going back even further 1013 carried it for a while as undercoat in the early 1980’s

I should know this one Dave, I helped repaint the spare bogie that was on loan to the DTG to enable 1015 to go mainline! I was also at Hagley when it did the 1st time I was nearly bowled by the 60 on the steel train going to Brieley Hill!

The tanks look lovely, but the red cylinders don't half grate!

IIRC D5830 on the Great Central was in that livery for many years - if not still in that guise.
