    Hello there, yes I can confirm that the tour wasn’t full. The first class carriage I was in had a few empty seats (coach E), as did the buffet carriage which was the next one along.

    I couldn’t say about the others as I didn’t look in all honesty.

    Other things being equal, wouldn't the same trip at a time of year with more daylight stand a better chance of being full?

    I would think so. It has returned earlier in previous years and so had much more daylight, even at this time of year.
