    Not quite Andrew...... WHHR has:
    - No weeds
    - Very nice carriages
    - A relatively smooth ride
    - Russell under restoration

Do call in for a cup of tea next time you're passing.

On the plane to Sierra Leone I read "How Steam Locomotives Really Work" and it goes in detail into how after a time the two engine units synchronise with each other. Recommended read - though the book is like the curate's egg, good in parts.

Really enjoyed the films, thank you; can't wait to experience the reality. How does K1 compare, and is there any film of her on the go?

yep they should syncronise quite soon after starting so it should sound like a 2 cylinder loco. 87 is still quite off beat in reverse as you can hear in that video, it also sounds rubbish because it has a Lempor. If you want to hear what a real engine sounds like try Blanche with its new black five alike blast pipe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Acsz688-ohw&feature=channel_page

Cor! That's quite an improvement on the old 'tiff..tiff..tiff..tiff..tiff..tiff..' of Blanche!

An interesting vantage point - standing in the four foot of the Cambrian Coast Line!
I understand the film maker was under NR supervision whilst making this film, but I sincerely hope nobody tries to copy it... [-o<

Otherwise an interesting film of a significant event in preservation history.

I see what a previous post said about 143 being in clouds of steam! I'm sure its only temporary! 87 goes very well, I too hope the longer WHR will run at realistic speeds.
