Shame there's no GWR locos on the 'GWR' leg,
but at least it's steam, that's the main thing.

Don't suppose anyone knows at this stage,
but I assume Tangmere will still be bringing the
2 support coaches back to Plymouth?

So what's happening with Nunney? I assume they didn't have the necessary in the support coach to repair trackside and run light to cornwall to re-join Cromwell? what about the rumour of a visit to P&DSR for repair? is she still laid up at Hackney sidings?......

Sorting out a hot bearing trackside would be a big ask if not an impossible task. If the axle box needs removing then it's jacks to raise the tender.

Might be wrong, but I thought a tender box was just about do-able 'on the road' I guess it depends what kit they have in the SC.
So if no road access for low loader, will it be down to Paignton slowly?

Logic would say that would be easier than messing around even further with the plan as 34067 is equivelant to 5029 power wise, even though 34067 probably fits to Penzance.

Nunney was still at Hackney sidings on Sunday evening when we went back through on the Royal Duchy.
It was still in steam as we had a whistled greeting.

Well last year they did want to take it round scotland !!!, maybe now it will happen.

This does highlight a bit of a shortage of mainline steam locomotives in the south right now...

maybe they could have got a Hall from Tyseley and put it with 62005... that would have been an interesting double header, other than that there's not much else down here working and accessible.

All depends on the extent of any damage caused to the bearing. If the axlebox has to come out then I can't see that being done at trackside.

Looking at the bridge coming away from those sidings, I wouldnt want to drive an empty low loader across there... let alone one with and empty tender on it, although, apparently the Fire Service were there at 1pm today filling her up

5029 was still in Hackney yard at 17.45 this evening. Earlier in the day the support crew had been clearing out the smokebox. I could just about make out one guy in the support coach, but there may have been more.

Also saw 34067 heading west at Cogload Junc at 18.34. Later reported (by Alberta!) passing Newton Abbot at 20.16, so looks light roughly right time.

Was going well past Hackney sidings, just about to upload the video, and as you say, even though she was early into Tiverton loop, Tangmere was held for the service trains, making it just about on time through newton, shame the light was fading though

Yeah,my report along with Liam's made it to SWRG!

Bullied's whistle could be heard 'Laughing' at 5029 in Hackney before it came into sight.

    Cheers,
    Mark

If you're going out to see the Great Britain II you'd better make sure you get there early. It was 15 minutes earlier than the advertised time I'd been told when it approached Reading today. I arrived at Winnersh Triangle at 13.35 with plenty of time only to see it from the car park, coasting towards Reading. (Missed my video shot). It shouldn't have reached Wokingham until 13.45
