The Duchess is currently an 0-0-0 in the West Shed at Butterley as well!

Regarding 35028, there was an interesting thread on RMWeb the other month about locos that have never been on a low loader, only moved by rail. 35028 has lost that distinction now. There aren't many other locos that have been solely moved by rail. 80002 to KWVR, 75027 to the Bluebell and 73050 to NVR (though it's tender has moved around). Any more?

I'm wondering about No. 27 on the Bluebell - it was an early arrival by rail, and it has now been out of traffic so long (since 1974) that I don't it went anywhere between 1960 and 1974.

4965 at Tyseley, came out of Barry by rail and always worked out of Tyseley by rail.

Has visited Llangollen in the past. 45025 was delivered to KWVR by rail and went to Strathspey by rail.

4965 has never operated on a heritage railway and certainly has not been to the Llangollen. 4936 and 4953 visited Llan...

73050 has been to Pinewood studios on the back of a low loader for filming Murder on the Orient Express I believe

I quoted verbatim from Preserved British Steam but it was wrong in this instance.

Keeping this miles off topic but wouldn't 75027 have been on a low loader to get to the Bluebell in the 1st place (1968 the closest by rail would have been Haywards Heath) ?

75027 has also been via lowloader to a private charter at Goodwood in 2021.

What about 600 Gordon. Lived at Longmoor until its closure with only one outing on a railtour. Came to the SVR by rail in 1972, I believe and has never left the railway other than Shildon and Rainhill.

Replying to my own post, but have remembered the static stuff at Pinewood used the out of ticket Caprotti five from Butterly, so perhaps 73050 is still in that category

34027? Used to be main line registered and went to the WSR and MHR in 2004 but I haven't got any record of it visiting anywhere without a main line connection. Certainly not left the SVR in its current ticket.

A number of the Didcot collection will fall under that, mainly becuase they haven't steamed much since being preserved.

Must have been on a low loader to escape Barry up to NYMR/ELR and back to SVR before restoration too I'd have thought, can't see anything sat at Barry for 15 years being allowed onto BR metals to move!

Also came to the Bluebell before the EG link. Well, I think technically it was Ottery St Mary at the time but that’s just splitting hairs

Went to the Bluebell in 2002, well before the East Grinstead extension was completed
