Fabulous day in the northern fells with the first WCME. 44932 makes a stirring sight and sound on the final climb to the summit at Blea Moor. Please note taken from a place of safety behind a fence pushing camera through gap.

With the Howgill Fells bathed in sunlight 44932 works the return Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express through Beckfoot with Steve Chipperfield driving, Craig Todd firing and Steve Adams Guard

44932 is seen approaching Ribblehead Station and onward to Blea Moor and from Great Strickland to Bessy Ghyll.

 

One of the more memorable days up on the Settle and Carlisle. It's great to see such a variety of images. Our little happy band went to Selside Moor and then Nook farm, Shap village on the return, hopefully these give you a feel for the cold but beautifully lit kind of day it was.

Some wonderful lineside images on another cold day from The Settle and Carlisle Line. Hope everyone has managed to warm up after waiting for that train. Always good to see the less overgrown parts of the UK rail system.

 

Some fantastic images and videos all, really great start to the new year. Looking forward to my trip on the 11th - similar conditions please!

Must admit our hobby always gets fantastic results from all be it stills or videos with many folk travelling hundreds of miles so long may that continue.

 

A very cold and atmospheric Newsholme, followed by a well back lit Helwith Bridge due to the near half hour delayed restart from Hellifield.

just a quick phone photo from Carlisle Station while I was in the area today

 

I tried a bit of both. Had the 2nd camera set on the tripod, remote controlled via the phone, did three dry runs, looked and sounded great. Train getting close, switched on the mic. Heard the exhaust, started the camera. Got on with the stills. Train passed. Kit into the car and home. Dowloaded the images. Looked good. Sounded not so good.

My mic switch is obscured by a fake fur muffler (100% not needed today in the calm air) and when I thought I'd switched it on I must have missed the switch.
