Is this the Bluebell's loco? It seems to have a non-standard tender, possibly from an LCDR M2 like O1 No 373 shown in Fig.42 of Locomotives of the SER? (image from a glass negative)

According to Mr Bradley's RCTS book on SER locos (P.154), nine of the O1 class were paired at times with ex-LCDR tenders, including No 65 which had the tender from a scrapped M-class between 1914 and 1925.

Looks like SER and LCDR tender drawgear must have been similar to allow tender-swapping, although the LCDR tenders would have changed from air to vacuum operation. I don't think any SECR engines ever swapped tenders with LBSC or LSWR types.

Thank you. The RCTS/Bradley SER book I have (published 1963) only runs to 124 pages. On p.85 it says that 65 had an LCDR M2 tender from September 1918 to March 1926. Is your book a later version?

Revised Edition 1985. Runs to 226 pages. It includes photo of O1 class No 373 with ex-LCDR tender at Slades Green in 1923, but the photo is now Fig 54, so Bradley must have added extra pictures as well as more text between the first & second editions. The Preface states that "much new and important information has become available to the historian" between the publications of the two editions.

Thanks. I see that several of the Bradley series have been updated.
