Probably one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" type humour things. Nothing serious.....

And she made it to Kingscote and back a couple of times

Probably the same chap who put the "cleanest engine today" disc on the bracket of the E4 in the works

    ... and that website says:

"The tender carries incorrect 'right facing' lion totems. These had been in store for a long time and inquires are being made into where they came from. Two new totems have been ordered to sort out the problem. The engine will now re-enter the works at Sheffield Park for 'last minute' work to be carried out."

Does this mean for the transfers to be redone and for Smoke Deflectors to be fitted? Looking forward to seeing the unveiling of her nameplate!!! \:D/ =D>

To display an unregistered heraldic device is actually illegal under a 1672 Scottish Law as Donald Trump discovered last year: -
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... -arms.html

This probably explains why the BTC registered the BR devices with the College, but I find it very strange to learn from the fantastic website below that the only Victorian railway to do so was the Great Central Railway. Therefore other railways operating in or sending through coaches into Scotland were breaking the law! Most of the designs would have breached the College rules anyway and strictly speaking are not Heraldic Devices at all.
Some such as the London & South Western Railway, Great Western Railway and most seriously of all the Caledonian Railway actually commited what today would be known as identity theft by using the heraldic devices owned by other bodies within their own!

I understand that the transfers are from origanal BR stock and have been saved by members of the group restoring 34059 for the return to service. Because of their age the transfers have broken up and not applied properly.

IIRC, the electric lighting needs fitting too, and the cables run around.

Is this a subtle way of announcing a series of Main Line excursions north of the border? Is the Bluebell now reconnected to Network Rail and nobody said anything?

Only three days now until 34059's formal launch into traffic.

As it's a special working, does anyone know the times to which the special(s) will be running? Likewise Friday's specials?
Also, are any last-minute test runs planned between now and then?

    Thanks

Following on form the above, I believe the only Big Four company to register its coat of arms was the LNER which of course included part of the GC coat of arms.

How do you figure that? The launch is on Friday the 24th, and its only Monday the 20th. Your maths doesn't work.

Quite simple - there is a special working booked for 34059 for to-morrow Tuesday 23rd. You can see this by looking at the loco roster - http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/blueb ... oster.html

So it's one day until this special, but OK, four days until the re-launch.

Latest pictures on the bulleid web site

    http://www.locos-in-profile.co.uk/Bulle ... r_sas.html

Saw it Sunday and it looked great in the Sunshine.

It's out during Tuesday and with a SPL train that evening, followed by the naming event at HK on Friday 24th @11.00. A couple of runs with a lunch train and then in the evening on a Charter (murder mystery night) for it's first piece of revenue earning work. ( I may have some special pictures of that one =P~ )
Then all the weekend on the public service train.

    Regards,

    Dave G.
