Here's my footage of the Jubilee at full cry around the Bristol area. I filmed her at Filton Bank, Yate and Charfield. The Yate shot was perhaps one of the closest shaves I've ever filmed. I hope you enjoy the video.

Watching a video taken at Reading this morning of 45699 there appeared to be an odd steam leak on the side of the firebox:

I hope all is well with the Jubilee.

Good to see only 10 on as this gives hope for a DL free run on 18th unless WCR can find a reason why not . I may even book on this

Well, that was a treat and a half! Galatea on todays Bath & Gloucester Steam Express, seen at Twyford, Oldfield Park, Yate, storming through Cam & Dursley at her maximum permitted speed, and ending the day at Keynsham:

Bit surprised to see a diesel on today as only load 10. First run after overhaul syndrome? Since 15th of October last I think that's the 12th RTC train in a row to have a diesel on the back assisting to varying degrees.

That's a first. Been to Gloucester on numerous occasions on proper steam hauled railtours and there has never been a problem turning locomotives or putting stock into sidings. Is this yet another victim of track/signalling changes? If so, RTC and other Promoters need to stop advertising runs with Gloucester as a destination as being Steam Hauled when they can't be anymore.

Steam hauled means a steam loco on the front usually doing all or most of the work.

Look up the definition of hauled in a dictionary.

I was on the train and enjoyed the stack-talk from the Jubilee. I also enjoyed a chat with the driver. Can anyone give me his name please. upload_2023-2-6_13-6-23.jpeg

It's still hauled by a steam loco for the entire journey. The reason why they use diesel's is so it makes easier to put the ECS in the Sidings and it doesn't create more paths in the timetable for steam to run round its stock or propell it in the sidings. Also if the tour started from one of london main stations its more convenient to have a diesel on the back so it can bring in the stock.

My OED says to pull or draw with force, or a pull or a tug.
So unless the steam loco is doing nothing at all, which is not the case on any tour I have been on with a diesel on the back, then it is not technically incorrect.
