I was there, but up on the bridge so the Overground train didn't block my shot, and indeed would have enhanced it – but I had finger trouble instead. Still I am glad just to have been there for the rare sight of steam on the fast road.

Perhaps others more qualified than me can comment but is this the quickest full overhaul ever done on a mainline certified loco?

Even ‘throw it together’ Crewe Works couldn’t achieve that.

No worries, not the fussy type anymore. The Jubilee is a great performer. Glad she is back on the mainline.

Hope she is kept in brunswick green, after all that is how most of us remember them. A selection of different jubilee names would be welcome though.

Would be nice to see her paired with Bahamas - one for the Great Britain perhaps?

More likely at the KWVR Steam Gala (March 9 - 12) when 2 Jubes are shown to be present.

Considering some recent respectable performances by single Jubilees, a pair of them together would be a great combination on the main line.

My comment was more in relation to matching liveries, two green Jubes would look great together. As Ralph states, Leander and Bahamas paired up last year for the GB, but unfortunately* Leander is in black currently.

*would prefer her back as 5690 in LMS crimson, but never mind! She looks like a slightly overweight black 5 atm...(I'll get my coat.. :p).

Totally agree a pair of green ones would look great. To the best of my knowledge the GB last year was (and correct me if I'm wrong) the only time two Jubilees have been together on a train since 68 other than as positioning moves. I recall there was an unrealised ambition to run 5596 and 5690 together back in the days when they were both at Dinting....

Leander and Galatea were paired together on the GB in 2018. From Carlisle to Edinburgh if I remember correctly.

Harthope, GBXI. Only two of us there, the planned stop at Beattock didn't take place so that must have caught a lot of photographers out, I would think.
