I reckon your on the right lines.
But, I'd say 76084, considering that 34028 is going to North Norfolk the month afterwards.
    It's a Std 4 Mogul regardless. :)

As a main line loco (at least as far as Cromer) would this mean it would be eligible for travel by rail behind a diesel?
That of course assumes it would be cheaper than a road move.

Unless rules have changed in the last few years, you don't need the loco to be mainline to be dragged across the network. Look at the Bluebell's stock being dragged to London for filming recently, Mallard's moves between Shildon - York or the Eastleigh 100 celebrations having Swanage & Mid-hants locos dragged to the site etc.

It'll be down to the usual suspects of cost, gauging and effort (pathing etc.) versus road haulage.

No I know, but I am assuming the checks that are needed (incl ultrasonic NDT) will have already been carried out in the case of this loco for the Cromer services, rather than an extra cost to be incurred.

    Who knew?

Well, now that's settled, this should be a good one.
I do happen to have a few books showing 4 Mogs working the Swanage branch on normal services.

As for visitor 2, perhaps maybe an Ivatt tank or a Std 4 tank? Maybe even 30541 as the Q's were seen in Dorset back in the day. ;)

This I cannot wait for [might have guessed that already], I missed 70000 when it last went there [2015, how time flies] plus 76084 and the homies this gala is going to be something everyone remembers!

Now.... who reckons 31806 and 76084 will double-head?

Shaping up to be a good gala I think. So do we have the complete lineup now?

This looks like it is the full line up going by the Facebook update earlier. Trains will be operating over the extension to the River Frome for the Gala.

There is currently a 'Maybe' third visitor but negotiations are still on-going apparently - so it may not happen.

I think somebody already leaked it on FaceAche, apparently it could be this:

Call me "Captain Obvious" but I think this is going to be a Standards event with the U and both Bulleids.

Ah 80078, a former Swanage resident. I remember it double-heading with 80104. Would be an excellent addition if it works out.

It's been quite entertaining reading some of the discussion on here.

Timetable with loco workings should hopefully be ready for public consumption by the end of the week.
