I bow to your greater knowledge. I was merely pointing out that when I arranged some of the historical film in 1987 to be included in 'The little train to Lynton' television programme I was able to assure the owners that their film would only be used by the BBC in this one programme and nowhere else. The video of these programmes originally on the internet under anonymous names had clearly been taped from the television, or in the case of the LT Catchpole 9.5mm, copied from a commercial video, and then edited to remove everything other than the historical film,

To be fair though, if either you or they had predicted the very existence of YouTube in 1987, you could probably have made enough fortunes to rebuild the L&B several times over. These were the days of VHS rental or 4 fuzzy channels on the TV or read a book.

It would seem that the unofficial FB page admin are a touchy lot, making a tongue in cheek comment on admin's recent actions of removing comments or turning off the ability to comment on posts has got me a 7 day ban, I know there is at least one member of admin on here so I might get suspended all together, many others have commented that the heavy handedness on that page by admin has given a negative impression in recent days, as Jones the butcher said 'they don't like it up em Mr. Mainwaring, so just a heads up to any others that use the page not to be too sarcastic ;)

We aint all that bad , as an admin of that page , I've only shut 2 comments because it became a mud flinging competition as to who could upset the most locals in one post.

My wife is psychic (I keep telling her), but I'm not. If I had even slightly imagined in the 60s that the Railway would eventually be recreated I would have made an effort to save a few more of the (at least) 9 bits of coach that existed then. The vast majority of people had little or no money that might have provided people with funds to donate to do so - for example, a telephone line was an expensive luxury (many had a shared one) In an emergency you used a public call box (coins only, press button A then B) or borrowed some else's phone. Can you imagine even the poorest person these days not regarding a phone as an essential ? Even hindsight is not available to me.

I can see why I dont come on Nat pres or spend any time here .
Well 2010 told you so ..there was an agenda but it was not to rebuild the l&b or extend the pway , infrastructure , or open it up to people who could or might ..Its the PMPR.

Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal? Or Prempur Station, Uttar Pradesh (is that another clue to where Lew might've ended up)? A really obscure Space Corps directive? Or perhaps somebody might actually remember whatever it was @TheEngineer 'told us so' in 2010 :)

I've got a feeling that PR is going to be 'private railway' or 'park railway' but then the Barclay James Harvest fan in me can only precede that with 'Poor Man's'

Anyway, would be good to know for certain.

I wonder if he means 'Posh Man's Personal Railway' or something similar? I've heard the same sort of suggestion in respect of another local-ish heritage railway site...

https://register-of-charities.chari...ity-search/-/charity-details/3974544/trustees suggests an answer to the "PM" part of the question. I hope that wasn't the intended meaning or implied accusation.

He told us that 45015 was going to be restored and run on a new heritage line hauling ex-NIR DEMU stock and an LMS 12 wheeled sleeper full of asbestos

Reading this from afar (NZ) it would appear that the current trustees who in someone else’s words gained control in a coup d’état may now need to watch their backs as it would appear they have squandered the achievements of the old guard and have now ground to a halt either by design or failure. If the dissatisfaction of membership is such and there are willing candidates the AGM could be interesting.

As one of those getting older by the year and chewing the Cud I've never heard of Mr Harvest - is he a rock star ? If that is the case my interest in music hesitated after Beethoven and ceased altogether after the Beetles gave up, having nearly expired when music died with the tragic death of Buddy Holly.
