Video now up, used Windows Moviemaker again in the end! Sorry about the sound, the wind was blowing straight across the fields and it got breezier as the day went on. The going away shot is handheld so a bit wobbly!

Congratulations to all the photographers for the stills and videos in less than ideal conditions.

Some performance on Shap - I've rarely heard a noise like it. Letting off steam - not feathering, but properly letting off, at the Summit - passed at about 45mph? Quite incredible. Gordon Hodgson at the regulator again =D>. Less impressive on Beattock but then Beattock is effectively 2x Shap. Not far off a crawl approaching the summit, but still on time before a race down the hill to Glasgow.

Thanks Ralph. Sadly the answer is, 'he isn't' - too much wind and an over eager hand on the zoom on Beattock ... #-o. Might put the Shap one up later.

Now THAT is what I call professional film-making. Great captions over sound that draw the audience in and creates an anticipation that is fully realises by a clear, steady, well focussed and panned shot! Send it to Channel 4 for broadcast - well done ! =D>

Very Nice, just the sound only initially works suprisingly well, letting the imagination run riot to the sound of the 3 cylinder beat pounding away.

Out with my camera for the first time on Thursday. One thing I have learnt is that you have to be there early to get the good spots.

I took the above photo as 46115 approached Hest Bank level crossing. (my cropping skills still need working on)

Not sure how to get it into full screen either - hey ho.

Well that was pretty average, nothing exciting. The mutual admiration society in full swing again I think.

Each to their own I guess!! Congratulations for trying something a bit different, i think just having the sound concentrates the mind on what a truly amazing noise this machine makes. As someone who had never seen or heard a scot until last year when she was restored that roar is something else. Definitely works for me.

Putting aside the artistic argument, what I found particularly impressive, from a performance point of view, was the fact that the engine was blowing off against the regulator at the top of the bank.
