Not exactly a Saphos train but a few images of this weeks private jolly.
D213 north of Millmeece on Thursday and D6817 & D6851 at Yorton yesterday. This close to home it would be rude for a Warrington boy not to photograph a trio of vintage products from Vulcan foundry.

 

35 late climbing Sapperton

 

Seemingly almost an hour late at Worcester today.

 

My footage of 61306 gathering pace past Wadborough (Foot Crossing) with the return leg of the "Cotswold Explorer" in tow.

 

Was on my way back from the NVR for the Gresley event and saw it was running late, so made an effort to see 61306 return through West Drayton:

 

Here's my footage of the B1 thundering at speed up Sapperton Bank and flying through Ashcuhurch at 70mph+. I hope you enjoy the video.

Any confirmation yet of what's hauling tomorrow's Great Western Envoy to Bristol? A friend mentioned that he saw Braunton raising steam at Southall this morning...

 

RTT are showing the steam hauled section as 60 mph so I presume it will be Mayflower.

 

I’m aware of that but RTT seem to treat Mayflower as a 60mph loco.

 

A lot of steam paths are timed for 60mph, it’s not an indication of the loco to be used

Rare to have been able to watch 2 steam locos leaving Newbury Racecourse on the same morning. Bit of assistance on the Saphos Train. Black 5 allowed to haul the 10 coach Great Britain Set and Class 47 with none. Good sound from both locos.
