    Looking at rtt, there is a tail gunner on from Carlisle and a change from 60mph to 75mph after Beattock summit loop stop. Am I interpreting this wrong?

    They say that sometimes there just isn't a path to allow the tail gunner to travel on its own. No, I am not carrying a flag for West Coast, merely pointing out that these issues are out there and we shouldn't always make assumptions.

    At least this year there shouldn't be any twitchy-ness by NR Scotland over fire risk.

    Yes a super loco. The driver on the Swanage train last year said that it was a very strong loco. Hopefully it will be allowed to run solo to Exeter on May 20

    Russ and Steve are still around. Russ had his traction engine back in 67 when I first met him and was persuaded to join what was then the Stockport Bahamas Locomotive Society by John Hillier and Terry Smith, the Shedmaste at Edgerley.
