Was on yesterday’s charter with the Caley. A cracking day and she looks mighty fine in her new clothes.

 

Quick! Paint a BR 4MT tank in Caledonian colours!

(Model railway enthusiasts will know what I'm talking about)

Good to see 9220 (BSO) arrived up there and is in use.

 

Is that the SVR steam school BSO? Is it on loan?

 

That blue looks pretty dodgy to me. As I was reminded this morning by the Chairman of the Caledonian Railway Society (also a volunteer at Bo'ness) the CRS paid for 419's blue coat when she returned to service and did a lot of research to ensure it was the correct shade.

 

Let's not get started on variations of blood & custard.

 

Yep. Season long loan to Bo'ness. It wont be the footplate experience carriage at the SVR when we return to doing them as it had some pretty bad flats due to the type of brake applications the guests were doing.

Colour is subjective . It was last painted 8 years ago I think. To be fair, who knows what Williamsons will supply as a colour the next time we order some cream paint.

Belel of the ball currently, No. 55189 is the current rostered locomotive for the next few weeks at Bo'ness. She was out on Tuesday during a very lovely and sunny day, again to feature this weekend on the Teddy Bear's Picnic services.

I should be visiting on 1st July, what other locos are serviceable at Bo'ness currently? Can't see much info online, even on wikipedia!

 

No. 55189, Austerity No. 19 and Nelson Reid No. 1 are currently available 'In Ticket' for service from the steam department.

This weekend is the Teddy Bear's Picnic, and so it was an ideal excuse to sit by the riverside with a sandwich and a camera....
