Definately running (info from thread on previous one cancelled). Looking forward to travelling on this with 3 colleagues from the Fleetwood Nautical College - took advantage of the table for four discount :)

Roll on Saturday ! Looks like the suns going to shine aswell [-o<

Plenty to choose from on the mainline this weekend :-k Good old Cotton mill for me, fancy a stroll up to Greenfield station in the sunshine with my little boy who's kept reminding me about the Cotton mill for weeks ! The missus is sneaking of to do some geneaology, best dad / lad time there is chasing steam engines. If your riding, give us a cheery wave, i'll be the fella juggling a 2.5 yr old and a video camera at the east end of Greenfield!!!
Looking forward to some good stuff on nat pres saturday evening!

    kind regards all !

    Matt.

Oh no! Curse of the 'we have to go shopping'!
Luckily the shop we need is in Elland so might be around there which will make a change, but I have never been before so will need to find a spot.

Might go to York later as well, but we will see.

Hello all ! Nice to have the sun out eh ! Took a stroll to my local station at Greenfield this morning, put the camera on the stand, stood back and enjoyed the spectacle with my little boy instead of peering through a lens ! No clever panning or zooming, here are the results........

As we've come to expect, train was beautifully turned out, dead on time, and going like the wind. Well done to all =D>

I think that collection is the perfect example of the "machine gun" approach to railway photography. Put a lot of thought and effort in? No just turn up and hold the shutter button down utnil the train has passed. Average would be the very best I could use to describe those photos.

Have you ever thought of being a bit more selective and just uploading one or two of the better shots, rather than uploading every shot, no matter how average, and then posted "hey look at my photos" on every known railway forum and yahoo group?

Wouldn't it have been a bit more respectful if you had sent your post as a PM instead of publicly criticizing a fellow forum member?
Remember not all linesiders are photographic whizz kids.
And yes I could have PM'd this to you but I'm trying to make a point to more people than just you.

Does anyone know who had the reigns and who was on the banjo today? :-k
I think i saw Mr Birmingham on the footplate, but i was dazzled by that strange bright light in the sky, glinting off the magnificent black Staniers ' spangley paintwork !!!

I didn't have any spare time to go rooting out new spots this week so "THIS" will have to do I'm afraid.

I also wanted to get back for "The Yorkshire Pullman".
