It's 3.30 pm and there's nothing posted on Tornado's trip north. Has the novelty worn off?

Seen at welwyn North this morning probably a minute or two early at 9.52

I was wondering the same thing...I was expecting this forum to be packed with pictures, taken from helicopters, signals, permanent way,trees,gantries,anywhere...then I thought, the police have confiscated the photographs,as it's transport...like they do.

p.s.Im told it did get a mention on commercial radio this morning in the London area.

Seen at Offords at 10.20 running 15 minutes early . I thought the timings on the outward journey to Grantham were rather generous ! At least 30 people linesiding but, their were twice as many to see the Talisman in the snow . Might see it return at 8.05 wife permitting .

It also got a mention on national radio - well, Radio 5 anyway - this morning including an interview with Graeme Bunker.
    They were also going to do a piece about SSS but as they'd threatened to talk to Waterman about it I didn't bother =;

Some fabulous shots already appearing, splendid stuff :) Keep them coming!

Well quite a lot of steam to choose from today up in the North, 60009, 6233, 45407 or 60163. I felt an easy day coming on ;) So i chose to do 60163 having considered the only footage on the Spring DVD is in the dark.

I went to Colton Junction / Bolton Percy, the first shot was one i haven't done since mid - last year!
60163 looked marvellous with the VSOE stock, would have been even better if the support coach matched, but never mind, looked superb!
The sun shone whilst she passed on the outward leg, but to everyone's disappointment as she approached on the return leg the sun disappeared! But this was made up for with some outstanding blowing on the chime, many thanks to the crew!

I've uploaded my two clips from today and can be viewed via the link below:

Nice one Simon, somehow I knew you'd be there, I was a couple of bridges south of you.

Got to say that rake of Pullmans brought back some memories and "Tornado" looked superb as always.

    Anyway "THIS" is my contribution.

Cracking shot Stuart! Well done! :)

I also had a feeling you'd be about somewhere, you going over to the KWVR tomorrow for 47279 and 80002 double heading all day?

I shall be looking for your footage though, the forecast looks good for the afternoon.

Nice to see people NOT hanging out of windows for a change...
I believe the journey was pretty pricey, well heeled regulations in force.

Great clips. She really does sound superb working hard at speed. And that chime whistle really raises the hairs on the back of the neck!

At the price of those tickets you would want to be getting as much food and drink down the head as possible, enjoying everything there is to offer, not just your head out the window for mile after mile.

I love the "wife permitting" comment! In the old days I just had my mum to deal with - much easier!!

Anyone see it both ways that wasn't at the NRM for the coaling?

They changed the headboard from the Blue one North Bound, to a black one for South Bound!
