They all say that as the first excuse, it's the start of the slippery slope into photographing manhole covers. ;)

I must admit to this photo of some pointwork taken a few years ago outside the vintage tram shed in Buenos Aires, mainly to show the manufacturer's plate. :( Sad or what?

It certainly was Shep and very uncomfortable with it but you’ve got to think of the footplate crews that have to work in these conditions which are much worse than what we had to put up with, they deserve a great deal of thanks for what they do.

I was informed by stewards on board that the steam loc was NOT to do any pulling at all, the diesel did all the work and even the Mk1 coaches were extremely hot inside
I decided not to come back on it and settled for a air conditioned run back to Preston
Tour left 15 minutes late and avoided Grayrigg stop and arrived very early at Carnforth due to diesel shoving
Don’t know what it was like inside the coaches when they were made to wait 90 minutes in Carnforth south loop
Top marks to the loco crew anyway in such conditions even though basically in light steam

Another team working in difficult conditions out of sight but who need to be remembered are the kitchen staff.

Any hints about what's planned to be on the front on Thursday? 35018?

A Merchant Navy can be very hot on the footplate, I’m sure the crew were grateful that they didn’t have to work it hard

I would publicly like to thank WCRC for allowing Mrs W and me to transfer our booking from today's Dalesman to another date to enable us to attend a funeral - much appreciated.
