    Hi All

According to Ian Riley there will be a Carnforth Loco on the next Cotton Mill, will it be 5690,46115 or 48151?

Since Leander is out the day before on a Hellifield Carlisle run, it would seem logical to keep her in steam for the following day....

I should be out & about for this 1. Probably either go to Wood End near Mossley, or if the weather is reasonable will go to Copy Pit?

May be an interesting engine + ECS movement Saturday after the Cotton Mill, up to Hellifield, be nice if they used the Bolton - Darwen line. Harold.

Doubt it, the stock will most likely go straight back to Carnforth along with the loco for service etc.. 47 hauled with steam on the back.

5690 now on UK Steam for e&c movement Carnforth to Hellifield on Friday 15th. Test run or early position move? Guess at test run myself.

Could someone please advise the best way to get from Picadilly to Victoria?

Is it walkable, how long will it take? I can get the train to Piccadilly, but would then need to get across to Victoria for the Cotton Mill,

    Thanks!

There's a free bus from Deansgate to Victoria, and from Deansgate to Piccadilly, but not from Victoria to Piccadilly as far as I know. It would take revenue away from Metrolink. If you have a Metrolink ticket valid between Pic and Vic you can use one of the services that run between them for free, but it's probably cheaper just buying a bus ticket.

Or, as has been mentioned, walk. Only 15 mins. Come out of main entrance at Pic, down the ramp past Ian Allan Bookshop, keep going past Piccadilly Gardens, then follow the tram lines round to Vic.

Or continue by train to Salford Crescent and then take a train back into Victoria.

As John says - there are no trams until September - Metrolink has caught on to Blockading now!

And if you do park at Victoria watch for the £3.00 all day that becomes £9.00 on event days. The machines will only take £9.00 when you want to exit - but go and pay manually at the entrance and its £3.00

I wonder how many mutter and pay up - Baaa!

And if you park outside at Victoria, where I usually do, watch out for the ermm gentlemen of foreign extraction who may try to sell you a ticket. These are ones that they have conned out of someone who has perhaps only been there a few hours and has plenty of time left on it. They will ask the full price. Nice little scam. Use the ticket machine and when you get back don't fall for their I havn't got the change for a ticket story.

The Rileyworld forum reports tour cancelled due to no engine available with apologies from Mr Cotton Mill Loco himself for 45407 & 76079 being otherwise engaged. 5690 or 46115 seemingly likewise not available.
