Why is 45407 due to return to Bury on 1st May? Only went to Grosmont this week. Thought it was at NYMR for the two steam gala weekends? Maybe going to Fort William??

45407 isn't due up into Fort William till August, try "The Welsh Mountaineer" double heading with 45231 on the 2nd May. I'm under the impression 45407 will return back over to the Moors after the tour. I'm sure someone will confirm or decline that.

I read somewhere that 45407 and 76079 will spend their summer at the NYMR as their base.
They are doing out & back from NYMR for mainline duties in the summer.

OOPS! Missed The Welsh Mountaineer. Looks like it's 62005 to the Fort on its own? Provisional engine & ecs move on UK Steam.
    Regards John.

Erm no! Has nobody looked at the dates? 45231 is participating in "The Welsh Mountaineer" on the 2nd of May, and then the stock move to Fort William is on the 14th May. By my books, it gives more than a week spare for 45231 to be worked back to Bury or Carnforth and then double head with 62005 with the ECS North.

... and the catenary ... and the concrete drain pipes at the bottom of the embankment ... and maybe the overhead electric cable (you'd better check with Ralph if they had electricity in "steam days" :-#)

Only joking, jack! I just prefer to see things as they really are, not "digitally improved".

With all this discussion in the railway magazines and on here about "real" photos, I'm beginning to wonder if some things really exist  . Fortunately, "Tornado" took a railtour past the end of our garden recently so I'm happy that it is real. Mind you, I'm not so sure about Jeremy Clarkson - is he real?
