There is a royally knackered Queen Mary on the SVR, it's been on the Hartlebury triangle for years. Don't know who owns it but a possibility?

Thanks for that. We were actively chasing this one for several months until our senior contact at the SVR recently died, may he rest in peace.

Would anyone know who I might contact now please?

    Regards

Thank for that, had a good look and it looks almost complete though no pics of the interior at the moment though I am sure there will be soon.

I see it will be out shopped externally in bauxite?

    Again well done

With a view to purchasing it Ian if at all possible.
As I have already said on this thread , funding is available and it would be going to a good home.

    Best regards

Latest photo taken yesterday of the interior.

    Also an appeal for information.
We need new brake blocks cast for this vehicle, what we need to know is the depth of the new blocks on the block, the block is stamped 10A.

    Thanks in advance.
    Can anyone help?

Looking around Ropley yesterday and Medstead & Four Marks the other weekend the Medstead wagon group is continuing on with the restoration of PMV S1995. They have also completed the restoration of a tube wagon. If Chris is looking at the thread maybe he would like to give us all an update on what the Medstead wagon group are up to over the next few months.

Ah thanks Lee, what a suprise.

At Ropley once PMV 1995 has been out shopped this week we have a choice of either one of the ex MOD S R Brake vans in for re-furbishment and a re-paint, or CCT 1765 , (the one that now looks faded pink), also for a few repairs and a re-paint , and thanks to our friends on the IOW for the paint specification, the CCT will be out shopped in early 1950,s freight maroon , a livery that does not fade so quickly. Both vehicles have funding available.

At Medstead there is rapid progress on the Pipe wagon and once we can get a shunt, the third and final Palvan that we have is coming to Medstead.

Next year we will be embarking on a serious maintenance programme to protect the major work we have done in the past five years or so.

At Alton the gang there have completed ashock open , a converted meat wagon and have been doing a great job keeping the fleet up to scratch and operational.

    Kindest regards:

    Chris:

Nice to see the freight train this weekend. Reading the MHR web site today the freight train will be running again on 18th September.

I'm puzzled... have a lot of posts been removed from this thread as there seems to be a huge date gap between posts #52 and #53.....? Is Ollie (Ian) alright?
On checking, Ian has been posting on the SVR wagons thread....but not since July.
