Ah we had some of the fun during the SDR''s 40th Gala I bleive on this occasion it was down to 5526 and 5786.
Although it's usually the cheeky little blue devil that does it.

Went for a trip on the PDSR today well actually two and it was all good fun as usual and got a few nice pics which I've uploaded.

I thought I'd add my comments on the new Shop I think it looks quite good much more modern and not as cramped as the old one and is geared for a more "touristy" market which of course is what their main trade is and has all the souveniers you could think of from pens to magnets, also do you have embroidered badges as I didn't see any and i know at Xmas when the Scouts come for the Santa Specials they usually buy quite a few. :-k
One small point though I'm not so sure about the ticket office being in the middle of the hall though, just doesn't seem quite right somehow. #-o #-o
Also the came at Kingswear has lost some of it's atmosphere that it did have. :-k :-k

All the same the train ride is still quite enjoyable!!

Yup I saw Lydham Manor in steam today at Churston, all looking very impressive as per usual! It would be nice if you could get Lydham and Nunney paired up together at some point, would be very impressive! Only just over a week left to go until the gala, looking forward to seeing the doubleheaded 2-8-0's! =D>

Yes should be good to see 4277 and 5239 double headed especially now they are facing in the same direction (Smokebox Paignton) and a duble header with Nunney and Lydham would be really impressive especially as they are both facing (Kingswear I believe) the same direction , would look great with the TE Headboard they used last year

Had a text from the wife just now "either nunny or the manor just gone up on its own" I replied "did it have a large tender with "British Railways" on the side?" she replied "Dunno, it was green"
    Honestly, you can't get the staff!!! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Yes its only worth living on Goodrington Bank when you have the staff with the right info!! :-k :-k

Anyway I'd suggest with a little deduction and assumption that it would have been Lydham and not Nunney.

I was right then I assumed as much as we have had no news on the wheel yet and I assume they'd want to advertise it if it was fixed.
Also the Manor was at the front of Churston shed on Sunday when I was there, good to know logic does work sometimes \:D/ \:D/

    Ladies and Gents,

The following is the official company press release.

5029 Nunney Castle Confirmed For Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway’s Heritage Festival

The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway are pleased to announce that 5029 Nunney Castle will be in operation during their Heritage Festival on 9 & 10 May, subject to repairs being completed.

Peter Roach, Operations Manager said, “We are thrilled that Nunney Castle will be an active part of our Heritage Festival. It has been a number of years since we had a visiting locomotive operating our service trains, so we are really looking forward to it. Nunney Castle will be used on one of the service trains on both Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May.”

The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway’s second announcement is that a demonstration freight train will run Kingswear to Paignton on Saturday lunchtime and will return to Kingswear on Sunday lunchtime. It was over 10 years ago since a freight train last appeared on the line.

The weekend kicks off at 10am on Saturday 9 May with the first train departing Paignton at 10.30am. There will be a Day Rover Ticket available which includes unlimited travel on the steam trains, entrance to Churston station, brake van rides and a ride on the miniature steam railway. An intensive service will be in operation.

For more information on the weekends events visit http://www.pdsr.co.uk

I think people actually want to know if Nunney will be available, and how the repairs are going, as most have probably seen the website.
