Any idea what’s booked to haul the Cumbrian Coastal Express this weekend?

 

I know they wanted BIL at one stage but not sure if that’s still the case

Steam is Carlisle to Carnforth.
I'm booked on this one. My only trip over the Cumbrian Coast line all this year.

 

47802 and 47815 on the diesel legs according to "Insect" on WNXXforum.

 

Running on time so far, just leaving Stafford. We were the first train through Bromsgrove in over 24 hours, it was completely flooded yesterday. A MOM was on-site to do a track inspection for us before we could go through.

 

Any news on what is going on the front at Crewe?

 

35018 was rumored to come on at Carlisle.

 

46100 is on the Saphos tour from Crewe.

Slipped to a stand just past Dalton Jn while going up the bank

 

Diesel dispatched from Carnforth to run past us and attach to the back to push us up. ETA 40mins.

 

Two WC 47 s just went over Arnside viaduct on thunderburg duty?

 

Always tricky around Dalton Jn this time of year. Surprised WCR let the big Bulleid take 12. Track conditions must be worse than Wilpshire on the 7th for them to sit down and fail to restart.

 

Perhaps a call for diesels to be on the back for reassurance

 

18:19. The 2 47s just ran past us heading to Barrow, where they can swap to our line and come back. So hopefully we should be underway in the next 15 min or so.

Same can be said about all the comments about diesel hating as well!

 

Yeah.. West Coast did well to recover the situation and I’m sure that all on board we well looked after. The train was absolutely buzzing earlier.

 

Now leaving Carnforth South, Class 47 at either end. Will be interesting to see how much time we can make up. Nice to meet @Will RL on board.

 

Hopefully a fair bit. Certainly if you get a good run you should pull some back.
