Very true. My bad luck continued when I noticed off the webcam there was going to be a training turn this evening unlike yesterday. Thought I would shoot out to HX but the SGN Herston roadworks were queued back to Victoria Avenue Bridge, & by the time I got back to the station I was just in time to see it pulling out and only grabbed two going away shots from the bridge. Not my afternoon really, compounded from calls from my Dad whilst in the queue about his loss of the internet which is actually a power cut in areas around the station.
Anyway another image from today of the "big sky" this morning during the training run.

I believe if you have already bought T3 tickets they can now be upgraded to freedom of the line tickets.

The T3 ticket situation has been a bit of a mess. Originally £30 (without freedom of line) then reduced to £22.50 (without freedom of line) and now the option of £25 to also include freedom of line for other services. At least they have realised their mistakes and adapted the prices, but confusing and annoying for passengers who had already booked.

It's only reactive pricing and no different to the likes of Premier Inn where you can book a room one day and watch it go down or up on the next day, depending on demand and other factors.

Steve, I really think there’s a bit of a difference between what the likes of a Premier Inn are offering and what Swanage are offering with 563.
    Would you not agree?

Not really. Swanage pitched in with a price they thought people would pay. No problem with that. They overshot so reduced the price to temp people. If they had been inundated I’m sure they would have looked at a higher price for any further trains.
Never been to a pub where the price increases during the busy periods? Not quite the same but similar where the price reflects the demand.

Surely the loco in the second picture approaching the Terrier on the Bluebell is real enough and would be the Adams Radial Tank, 488. The green Jinty, numbered 727, is 47276 and not 47676. The filming at Bath took place on a Sunday in late September 1965. The loco had largely lost its green paint scheme by the time it was displayed at Bristol Bath Road shed's Open Day on 23/10/65 but I seem to remember that its dome cover was still green.

As someone who works in hospitality Steve, no I’ve never been to a place or worked at one that adjusts its prices on how many people it has through the door, perhaps you do things a bit differently in Yorkshire?

''Pints served at venues owned by the UK’s biggest pub chain will cost more at busy times, after the introduction of a ‘dynamic pricing’ system.

Stonegate’s decision to bring in the scheme, which will increase or decrease the price of drinks at its sites depending on demand, has been met with criticism by customers on social media and a campaign group for pubgoers.

The company is the owner of Slug & Lettuce, Yates and Craft Union bars, with more than 4,500 venues across the country. Dynamic pricing has reportedly come into effect at 800 of them.

According to the Telegraph, one central London pub was increasing the cost of a pint by 20p on weekends''.

That is surely what the hotel and the airline industry having been for years Matt. There is never any visible logic, although the algorithms will know what is going on, but there is never a way to know if early, late or any other time is the right time to get the best price.
With the T3 or say the RTC discounts on mainline tours they do then however to be more driven by bookings (or lack of them) near the event as the deire to fill empty seats becomes more pressing.

I bought that on DVD years ago solely on the strength of the cast. It's worth your time and in my case, overdue a re-watch.

Very enjoyable trip behind the loco this afternoon as today I actually managed to get to the station in time to catch the last train.
It may still be running in, and the afternoon crew training run was cancelled due to some minor issue, but the "old girl" gave me my second ever fastest time from Corfe to Afflington, albeit with the benefit of not having to have a standing start at Corfe and only load 3 of course. Very impressed.
