Please no ! I painted 46521 and 46443 into 7% solution livery with Bob Timmins, then after the filming had finished I repainted them both, it certainly kept me busy for a good long while.

Is that chained down to the track via the rear draw hook?

I thought that at first but then wondered if it was just a tow chain that had been used to move the loco prior to departure. Did this go to the SVR by rail or road? I can't remember.

Have a feeling this one was a rail movement?

Looks much nicer in black. The green is an accurate livery which looks like a preservationists' flight of fancy.

Moved by rail on 20 March 1971 in a special freight hauled by BR Type 4 No 1678. On the day, the planned route was closed to all traffic by a derailment north of Gloucester. Cardiff Control were contacted and Paddington eventually agreed to a late change of route via Hereford.

Is that where it is? On closer examination I’ve noticed the cab side numbers seem to be a bit larger as in St Rollox style, hmm interesting.

But lets face it, these Ivatt and BR Class 2s look smart whatever colour you care to paint them:)

Virtually everything getting overhauled at Oswestry was painted green. They did make an exception for 9Fs though.

RCTS B.R.Standard Steam Locomotives Vol.2 p237 lists which of the Std,2's were painted green, lined and unlined. I haven't seen a published list for the Ivatt 2's anywhere.
