Todays program was raising funds for the Bluebells LBSC Atlantic project - nice to see it getting some airtime. Top job people.

The lady who was the subject of the programme is Avril Gaynor, the Bluebell Railway's Press Officer.

There are seven days left to watch. I haven't actually seen it so don't know if there is much Atlantic interest...

Incidentally, this is a repeat - I remember it being written up in Blue News a couple of years ago. Would be nice if we got £954 every time it was repeated \:D/

Well the loco is a "repeat" too, isn't it? It was last seen around 1958....

That's the problem with daytime TV on the BBC. The programmes are so dreary that you don't really notice if you've seen the same program seven times (mind you, I sometimes have better things to do!  ). Cheap TV to fill out the day when no one is really watching.

For those interested, here's some of where the money has gone:

    http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/locos/atlantic/latest.html

Coupling rods forged and cut to shape (but not yet machined); and the beginnings of the fabrication of the cylinders and valve chests. I know these things always take more time and money than you first think, but with the frames erected, wheels cast and the beginnings of the work on cylinders and motion, the day when we have a rolling chassis is getting ever nearer...
