Yes I did wonder how that had been built "under the radar" of those on here.

The Yorkshire post article is paywalled, so not obvious what they are saying beyond the headline, but I found a précis on another forum that suggested one of the alleged offences was to construct a “turntable for trains without permission” - which left me thinking “how the hell do you do that unnoticed?” (And more seriously - I suspect there must be more than one side to what is being reported).

Another reason not to read the mail.
Without jumping up and banging my drum again, come on HRA what are we going to to do this time?
Does it involve removing fingers from rectums?

There wouldn't be there's no-one left there, afaik! A once very productive group of volunteers banished by the permanent staff. I just wonder who is next.

Appears to be charter using the P3 and half a dozen wagons operating out of Grosmont this morning. Fair amount of snow over the Moors and roads closed earlier.

Just looked in on Goathland webcam (snow check) and noticed portable heaters/thermal blanket? over the point blades. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

They are plastic oil containers cut in half and placed over the point blades to prevent overnight snow blocking the blades. Simples:).

Shame there isn't a train running the opposite way for those folk holidaying in Whitby over Xmas/New Year, who fancy a trip out over the moors, or for those that like to partake in a bit of hiking/rambling. Used to enjoy the rail trail one way and a steam train ride back up the hill to Goathland at that time of year.
