Autumn colours and frost on the sleepers from the first real frost this month in Shropshire.
The sun has just broken through the cloud only minutes before 46115 made a noisy climb through Oakengates.
For those who like to bemoan such things the diesel was noisy too !

I was expecting her to be shut off and coasting after taking the junction onto the Goods Loop, so was pleasantly surprised to get some noise and steam as she approached the station.

I was on the Pathfinder tour with the 40 yesterday. On the return we were on the slow line north of Reading, heading towards Didcot, and the return working of the RTC tour overtook us on the fast line. I've been on plenty of tours that have met other tours but I think it was the first time I've been on a moving tour that has been overtaken by another tour.

UPDATE: Have found a YT video filmed at Goring and Streatley. This is just seconds before the overtake. The RTC tour goes through the station moments after the 40 tour.

 

Here's my footage of 46115 Scots Guardsman on her long but lovely journey to the capital in beautiful weather. I filmed her at Cosford, Bishop's Itchington and Kings Sutton. I hope you enjoy the video.

46115 & 44871 both captured in Shropshire. The late running ruined any chance of a good soundtrack up the Hill from Cosford as the 47 was the primary source of power. Thankfully 44871 seemed to be mostly in charge at Bromfield and Onibury. Last week's action is also shown with similar results.
