Footage of 34046 today giving plenty of smoke, passing through Esher on the fast, tearing through Andover, and making history through a deserted Hayonds Road station on the return. From what I've gathered, this was the first steam tour to pass through there travelling away from Wimbledon in nearly a decade, the last being 34046 herself on a Christmas diner in 2013. Only I was there to witness the spectacle, though that was probably because of all the cancelled Thameslink services

Lovely footage as ever. You were one stop along from me at Hersham. Plenty of smoke from the 47 there as well! The return at Haydons Road sounded like several flats has developed on coaches.

Yes there was some very heavy breaking before Wimbledon, something didn't sound quite right and when the brakes released the thumping started.

Yes the 47 was assisting at a fair few points to help time and ensured the coaches were nice and warm which is important to some passengers....

I wonder why the braking was so hard - driver forgot the route wasn't straight to Waterloo?!;)

From watching open train times it seemed that the signaller forgot that the train wasn't heading for Waterloo not the driver.....
