So, now that 2968 is finished, what's next in line to come out of the works? 4150?

Bridgnorth will not be undertaking any overhauls except for contract work where the owner pays the full cost. The West Country is the next to be dealt with on that basis.

Other than the fact that both 4150 and 82045 are paying for work to be done, and are being done. So in answer to the gentleman’s question 4150 stands a chance of being next

Those engines are already being worked on so nothing new there, but they're being worked on by their own volunteers rather than SVR staff, with the exception of 82045's boiler, which is again a contract job. In a similar way, the repairs to 813 are being funded by the owning group. The SVR have no current plans to start an overhaul on their own account.

Still missing what 61264 was actually asking though? He was asking what was coming OUT next not what was going IN.

You’re completely missing the question being asked….

The question was … What is next OUT. Not in. And as I said 4150 stands a chance.

Also with what you say ref 4150 and 82045 you are not quite accurate. Some paid staff involvement is happening where needed with 4150, and with 82045 some machining of parts has taken place as contract work alongside the boiler.

How can you tell? Volunteer labour has the advantage of being cheap but not necessarily quick - or reliable, especially given the age profile of the volunteers. All those engines make progress, but generally on one or two days a week. Which will get there first isn't something I'd like to guess about.

I can’t tell. Hence why I said 4150 stands a chance. But you’re clearly not reading that bit!

Law of averages suggests 4150 is slightly further advanced than 82045. But who knows.

"Who knows". Indeed. Neither 4150 and 82045 will be in steam until they have a fire lit.
The question of which is first is not really of any importance, it's not a race.
The important thing for the SVR, the membership and supporters is that they will have two important loco's in steam in the not too distant future, plus some welcome contract work and income in their pocket to boot.
Everything comes to those who wait!

I've been calling her twenty nine-sixty eight for almost 54 years. I can't see it changing now!

According to SVR live only next weekend, 16th is 4930, 17th is 43106. 2968 then does the remaining two on the 23rd & 24th.

    2968 looking amazing today....

With Christmas services now done, the railway is back with public services on Boxing Day, running up to January 2nd. The 29th is the Winter Diesel running with only 7714 in use steam wise that day. The other 7 days see 75069 on the S1 turn, the Diesel S2 turn is 40106 26th-28th and 46045 30th-2nd. The Bridgnorth turn is 7714 26th, 1st and 2nd while 2253 'Omaha' 27th, 28th, 30th and 31st. Usual caveats.

Does that last tail lamp still get a massive cheer from the staff? :)

Have the Severn Valley thought of just keeping 2968 in that livery? It really suits it. :)

It's down to the owners. And the answer is No!

Edit: It has actually appeared in the livery before:
