any repaint needs to be done with the full suppot of the society . In 6201's case we also need a host railway to offer us a suitable venue and one that would main line connected . Preserved line running is not without it's own perils and i'm sure there are those wiser than i am who would quite happily advise on the costs incurred , lower steaming fees and wear and tear etc

There are also plenty of BR liveried loco's but on only one railway can you see a rake of LMS Coaches

we have also had 9017 and 55189 this spring .If everything is BR we lose the excitement we get when it does go BR

In 6201's case you had a host railway with a main-line connection and under cover accomodation but then the lady said..........

Been around long before any TV programme. We had to put that at the end of any maths proof when I was at school. Meaning 'Which was to be demonstrated' (or proved).

I only quoted a TV programme as a point of reference and as the quote is Latin its obvious that it was around a long long time before TV

Not that all would necessarily agree with your sentiments, does the "6233" in your pseudonym suggest an element of bias, perchance?

Fair comment, no offence intended but have the CHC overstepped the mark by issuing this info, I repeat nothing yet discussed with the membership, never mind agreed.
If 6201 is to have its own website, lets hope it is kept up to date, unlike its previous attempt which was pathetic, god knows who was in charge of it.

It's taken a long time, but has the penny finally dropped!!!!!!!

Never mind all this livery nonsense, all we want is for her to run on the main line again, thats the important thing, all the other things come second.

Great Day at Crewe yesterday, looks like 6201 might finally get back on the main line on Friday and Saturday. The support team have done a great job, what a pity the sales people don't have the same commitment, what a load of tat was for sale on their stand, NO 6201 memorabilia at all, what do they expect to sell.
Good exposure on BBC North West News tonight.

Probably the wrong place to say it, But a big well done to Mike and the CHC staff for grasping the oppurtunity of the Loco's being onsite, and putting on a good event. Great to see so many people supporting it too!!

Lets hope that 6201's run over the S & C is successful on saturday. I will never forget my ride on her on the Severn Valley at night. The sound was simply awesome. :smt023

I see she's now booked on the 'Christmas Chester Chuffer' on Saturday 19th December - hopefully all will be well by then!

    Good luck Saturday though! :D
