Anybody able to advise what carriages will be in use over the festive season period? I am tempted to visit Wednesday.

 

Both Mk1 sets and the mix of Gresleys, LMS and the odd GWR.

 

Do you know which diagram will be the mixed rake?

 

Not at this moment. The sets are being reorganised to put buffet cars back in. Ill bw able to tell which one is working off Bridgnorth as I am shunting it tonight. The GW set is not in use as it needs all the Enchanted Express gubbins removing.

 

Thanks, it is a shame the GWR rake won't be in use. I do like the pre-BR carriages on the SVR! Just saw a video on the SVR unofficial facebook group, 7714 worked set C to Bridgnorth today ECS today.

 

It should be on the S2 (Diesel) turn on Wednesday.

No doubt, but they weren't evident for the days between Christmas and the new Year. No direct links from the calendar pages ( the obvious place to look).

 

The calendar pages link to pages for the day/service such as this https://svr.co.uk/event/festive-trains/ and the link to the timetable is on that page.
I will say I do find the current public website unclear at times.

 

Thanks for that link. I spent some time trying to find it, and failing - until I thought of NatPres and found the TTs at a glance!
I can see that they've aimed the site at people who see it as a visit (like a historic house or theme park) rather than a journey, which is fine.
But all I wanted was the time of the first train from my chosen starting station!
A link to every open day to the appropriate TT is all that's needed to do that.
That would by-pass having decide, for instance, whether my planned round trip was an Event or an Experience and finding it was neither.

Very fussy. Regularly comes and sits on your lap. Not complaining.

 

Why am I getting the feeling that Kevin has adopted the railway?
