The weekend before Christmas saw the annual bus running day in Bromley with two routes revived, the 94 and 227. I was brought up in Bromley and the 94 was one of two buses I used to get to school so it had to be done. The first shot is of RT 1702 leaving Catford Garage where my father was based for over 20 years, the second was taken in Burnt Ash Lane at the bottom of the road where I lived until I got married and moved to Buckinghamshire. The 227 was always a single decker route owing to a very low arch in Chislehurst

Used to get the 227 all the time up the hill from Penge to Crystal Palace, although strictly speaking I lived in Beckenham, we were close to the Kent/London border. The difference was crucial as the Penge pubs (London) closed at 11pm, the Beckenham ones (Kent) 10:30!
