This French Pacific came to me and I am having trouble finding any details.
It looks to be one of those models built from a weekly series. The wheels and motion are in aluminium. The rest is in laser cut plywood. gauge is 70mm.
There is just the loco as per the photo. I am still unsure what to do with this. It may form part of a diorama of a loco under repair.
Does anyone recognise the loco or model? IMG_20240118_120557.jpg

I think the model may represent PLM No 6001. A google search on "PLM 6001" throws up a number of images such as these:

No 6001 was the prototype PLM 4-cylinder compound Pacific, built in 1909. According to "Compound Locomotives" by JT van Riemsdijk, it was the ONLY one of the PLM Pacifics to have its cylinders in the de Glehn layout, with outside cylinders beside the rear bogie wheels. All of the subsequent PLM Pacifics (of which there were 462) had the outside cylinders further forward, over the bogie centre.

Many thanks, now found lots of details and food for thought. I do love over enthusiastic sellers on the internet, somebody is asking 1200€ for a very poorly put together version.
I think it will end up moving on to somebody else, but you never know. As the previous owner said It was on a one-way trip to Barry scrapyard so it is safe for now.
