No, as far as I know, there are no air-braked vehicles on the railway.

I think at one point the intention had been to restore the LCDR carriages as dual air / vacuum, but it came to nothing.

The Metropolitan Rly used the train vacuum brake in steam days.

Perhaps you were thinking of the Metropolitan District Rly - today's LT District Line? That did adopt the Westinghouse air brake for train working in steam days. See attached photo of District 4-4-0T No 10 - note air pump on boiler side and air reservoir tank under bunker.

Thanks @bluetrain, I just had it in mind that they were air, and that when Birch Grove came back in the late 90s it would mean being able to run an air only train.....but I must be confused somewhere.

That photo of the loco hooked up to the tender - fantastic!

The whole Atlantic Project team can be very proud of this moment.

Looking great already, the testing sounds a bit similar to Fenchurch's running in, that had quite an extensive running in, but whenever that is I greatly look forward to seeing it.

The Brighton Drawing Office made a much neater job of the running plate than Doncaster.
