Agree the restoring one of the end push pull carriages working a normal loco run around service would look superb! A 3 car bulleid set would be fantastic. Then again, apart from off peak. The services need to be 5

Some have dyslexia, and even the best spellers sometimes produce typos*, so we should be gentle in our criticisms. However I am inclined to agree that consistently typing "bullied" instead of "Bulleid" suggests a lack of care.

*There's one in post #9934 besides the deliberate one.

Latest Southern locomotives news page on their website mentions the first weekend of June being the target Bulleid weekend. Hopefully we can get 4 of them here. And make it a proper full blown gala.

It's not looking like the Victorian weekend is (compared to what we have been used to pre covid).

1 visitor, T3 then .. U, Eddystone and Manston is away until after that I think.

So I would be surprised to see any services going 'over the road' and probably focus the services on the main section

1st: Finally, a decent steam event with no horrid top-n-tail shuttles, that has a decent visitor.
2nd: Who cares about a load of BLIPS when you have two pre-1923 engines!!??

Manston will be at the Watercress Line's event.

To be honest, I don't particularly care about your opinions. They must be most annoying to the hard working folk that work tirelessly on such projects. [BJ]

Is it possible the 2 Victorian locos could top and tail to the Frome bridge?

You’d have to at least consider water capacity on the Terrier which is only 500 gallons. Enough for a twelve mile round trip with a realistic load and some contingency, but trickier for 18 miles - depending of course on load and how two locos shared out the effort.

    Ignore me, I’m asleep.

Ah, in that case ignore what I said - I had in my mind it was the Terrier because - it always is!

How do you know its an event with no top & tail shuttles, have you seen the timetable then?.I certainly hope some trains go up to the river Frome, the thrash coming back is the best on the whole line with the rear engine doing nothing. Not sure if you are insulting a certain class of loco by calling something a BLIP.Any steam loco working at any event in this day and age is a blessing to a lot of us.If you do attend it i hope you enjoy it,Blips or no BLIPS.

Not as far as I know! I just had it in my mind it was Fenchurch because it has been doing the rounds recently and seems very popular - whereas for some reason the big Chatham engines seem to get consistently overlooked. I think thus far the O1 has only visited one other preserved line about 15 years ago; and the C class and H class have never been away! So this visit of No. 65 will be a definite rarity: I'm pretty certain the only time in preservation that No. 65 has been away from the Bluebell (apart from its Southern Steam Centre days in the 1970s) was to the KESR in 2009.

You must be having a bad day Tom, I seem to remember a genuine Chatham 0-6-0 (and a less so genuine one) running at the Spa Valley last June. Obviously the loco gets anxious if it leaves Sussex for too long!

Didn't the C make it via the mainline to London for a filming contract and run in steam at a mainline terminus (I can't remember which one). And the O1 has made a brief escape from Bluebell metals into the main line station at East Grinstead as well. Maybe these SECR locos are planning a coup on the Southern - one goes on a recce, another makes a brief border incursion. Watch out when they are all in steam together...:)
