superb day, apart from the 9f shutting off at kinchley, but you can win them all

 

A true flavour of the East Midlands, well done Great Central, another successful event as always.

 

My take on Friday. The parking/entrance fee at Quorn was a bargain and a collection was made at the Kinchley Lane bridge. All to a good cause.

Thanks. I had hoped to return over the weekend to get some riding in but the wife roped me in to help out at the local point to point meeting.

 

75069 and 52322 are both running again this weekend for those who want to see them again or haven't over the weekend.

I have always been impressed that the GCR seem to hang on to visitors for another weekend and use them, which is good for those who could not make the gala or do not want the crowds.
Unfortunately having a wife who had two stents fitted in her heart last Friday prevents me even giving it a second thought this year.

 

I had a lovely time last weekend even though the s160 didn't make it... Might have to return for another visit this weekend.....

 

I hope your good lady feels better soon, sending you our best from 31A.

Thanks for posting Johann, it does show what a super gala this was. The brilliant weather helped, but the variety of transport was amazing, the two visiting steam locomotives, two railcars and three different freight rakes (Mixed, Tanks and Vans). Well done the GCR.
