Good news about the steam tram. Disappointing to read about the vandalism on the Pacer unit.

Thank you. Unfortunately despite our best efforts, we do get unwanted visits every now and again. It does seem to happen to a lot heritage railways sadly.

The tram boiler is just what we needed, unused and at a price much cheaper than we had been quoted to have one built to order. I can’t wait for it to be back in operation.

Great that it is unused - looking forward to seeing it in operation when we next visit.

Don't suppose you know when Ruston & Hornsby 0-4-0DM 313394 (running as D2971) returned to Telford please? This departed for the Chasewater Railway last September but was reported as present again last Saturday. Did it come back last week when the Sentinel left for Chasewater?

Hi Defiance149. Thanks for your question. Ruston & Hornsby DM No. 313394 ‘Jammo’ hasn’t returned to Telford Steam Railway. It is still at Chasewater Railway (AFAIK it is there on a long term hire). I hope this helps

    Hi all

We reopen on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays (some other days for special events) from 31st March 2024 until the end of September.

This year we now have the loco roster on our website to help visitors (especially NP members!) decide when to visit. I hope it is useful.

If you have any questions, let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them.

    Dear all

Here is the latest update from the railway. The tram and coach now have covered accommodation, which will make a massive difference to their restoration.
We have an open day for prospective new volunteers on Saturday 23rd of March. If you live in the area, come and see all the great things we are doing and the opportunities that are available for you to help. Skills in bricklaying, welding and construction are especially needed.

Either TOM or HECTOR will be in use giving a brakevan ride over the line.

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me please. We have an original station clock, made by Smiths. On the front it is handwritten BR(M) and the number 22495. We hope that someone on here will know which station this number refers to.

    thank you in advance

    best wishes

You could try asking Simon Turner, who specialises in railway clocks:
    http://railwayclocks.net/

BTW would you post a picture for us to see?

    Hi all

As @Breva requested, here is a photo of the clock in question. I realise now that it might have come from a railway building other than a station, but it would be great if someone could identify it.

    thank you

    best wishes

Looks electric, but it says '8 day', suggesting a mechanical movement. No doubt the number will identify where it was. The GWR identified all their clocks.
Does it have all of its movement (it looks very flat)?

I have a French station clock (below) which runs for a whole month. Amazing. It's a very slow 'tick'.

Apologies, @Breva, my earlier photo did not show a very important bit of the clock

it is not electric but is wound by turning the ‘knob’ at the bottom of the clock. Pulling the knob down allows you to move the hands to set the time. It does seem to be keeping time very well. The clock has a Bakelite casing which is about 1 1/2 inches thick that contains the movement.

    Best wishes
